Attempted Store Robbery with Air Gun in Japan

Japan is known for being one of the safest countries in the world. It still is, but some crazy crimes happen from time to time. In Kanagawa a middle aged guy attempted to hold up the clerk with an air gun. We’re not joking.
For those of you that have traveled extensively in Japan or have lived there, you’ll know that the sale of toy guns and air guns that look exactly like the real thing is common. When we were kids we had guns that we thought looked real, but they were just simple plastic replicas that would never pass as the real thing. Fake guns in Japan are different story entirely. Many of these guns feel and look more real than they do on a movie set.
Apparently, the attempted robber was foiled by the clerk. All he said was, “Hey, that’s one of those fake air guns, isn’t it?” With that, the robber ran out of the store with no cash. We want to move to Japan.
