DIY Music and Art Creation with Data Dreamer
For those of you that fancy yourselves as artists and don’t have the know-how to create music or art Data Dreamer has created a new project to help you along. They call it “Project Two”. It’s a do-it-yourself (DIY) art and music creation interface. Sounds like something The Saiko could get into. We love things like this [read: cool interface that make us feel like we're doing something amazing, but the truth is that the designers made it stupid-proof on the user interface and kept the complex items to the back-end]. Thanks, Data Dreamer.
Here’s how it works:
- Click and drag one of the circles towards the center of the bullseye
- Rinse and repeat
It’s that simple. Keep in mind that the kick drum doesn’t work all that well. In fact there is a likelihood that you’ll not be able to hear it at all. Don’t be afraid to get creative with how quickly you drag and remove each circle. Create some art. Ask yourself, what would Gypsy and Young Sun Han do (wwgyshd)?
Keep in mind that this is not anything like Ableton Live or Reason. Additionally, this is not something that is remotely related to a MIDI controller. Rather, it’s simply a way for people that are not into creating electronic music to make something real-time and that is their own.
By the way, we’ve searched their website and have found no “project one”. Sounds kinda dark ops ala CIA to us. Give the Data Dreamer site a visit. They are doing some interesting techniques of bringing data and visual art together.
