Jordy Smith Lands Historic Surfing Trick: Rodeo Flip

Jordy Smith has officially made all surfers question their ability by landing a rodeo flip. Surfing will never be the same. We understand that a statement like that verges on dramatic, but you have to watch Jordy pull off this historic trick to understand where we’re coming from on this one. Watch the video below to see for yourself.
Surfing, the first of the board sports, has spawned and influenced skateboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, wakeskating and any number of other board sports over the last 40 years. This trick, called a rodeo flip, comes from the world of snowboarding and was first landed in 1994 by York Shackleton at Snow Summit in California. Nobody had any idea that such a trick would or could manifest itself in the world of surfing.
For the record, Jordy Smith is a pro surfer sponsored by O’Neill and is from South Africa.
Keep shredding, Jordy!
